Spring energized seals
How do you make a component compelling? We delivered an array of 3D product animations that show Bal Seal’s canted-coil spring in each of its target markets, while capturing the big picture context that truly resonates with the people our client needed to reach.
Bal Seal Engineering, Inc., manufactures a canted-coil spring and seal solution that is used in almost every industry you can imagine: aerospace, robotics, medical device, military hardware, energy infrastructure, and hybrid-electric vehicles. Its marketing team needed help demonstrating its product to buyers in a way that captivated their attention, while showing the reliable functionality of its engineering.
We delivered an array of 3D product animations that demonstrate Bal Seal’s canted-coil spring in each of its target markets. Each animation illustrates the beauty of its engineering, while capturing the big picture context that truly resonates with the people Bal Seal wanted to reach. We animated its functionality within a commercial airliner, a hybrid-electric Prius, solar panels, wind turbines, an oil refinery, automated robotics, and more. In total, the animations provide Bal Seal with more than 15 minutes of animated material to use and reuse in a variety of videos explaining the value of its product.
How do you make a component compelling? Imagine yourself flying through the sky on an airliner, and reaching up to choose your favorite movie on a touchscreen. Thinking about your technology within the context of its real-world, big-picture application will help you discover where your product relates most to the end-user. Visuals, such as animation, help illustrate that picture in a way people will see, understand, and remember.
We quickly realized the synergies were there. Bal Seal wanted to illustrate their reliable connections and superior sealing products in detail, and we know all about detail. Besides, the springs and seals Bal Seal makes are simple and elegant, almost artistic in their design. Once we understood how they worked, we knew we could do it.”
Micah Kohne, Creative Director at Syntropy
Bal Seal Engineering’s has used our these animations in a variety of videos to amass a Youtube channel audience of more than 40,000 views, and 77 subscribers - all tuning to learn about canted-coil spring solutions. Not only have these animations been useful on their own, Bal Seal’s team now has more than 15 minutes of animated b-roll to continue using in sales and marketing videos explaining the functionality and reliability of its product to buyers.
We wanted to give medical design engineers and other attendees a no-nonsense, quick-hit illustration of how our products work, and animation accomplishes that in a way no other kind of media can. For instance, by watching the sequence that depicts the Bal Conn’s application in pacemakers, neurostimulation and sensing devices, you experience a view of the working connectors that doctors don’t even get to see. It’s really amazing.”
